[ hello laurence in the garden today, little green chao sitting on a bench nearby, kicking its feet. he's still got his laurel crown of flowers sitting in his hair and some vines around his throat and wrists, but otherwise he doesn't look that different from normal. ]

Hey, Koharu, are you any good with flowers?

[ laurence is coping today by hanging out in the mansion lobby with a book. but it's not light reading? at least judging by the notes he's scribbling in the margins and snippets of text highlighted on the pages. but he sits back with a sigh as koharu shows up, rubbing his neck. ]

Hey, Koharu. [ he sounds pretty tired, but anyway. ] You doing okay?

[ executions are always bad and she only just got her sight back so he wouldn't blame her for feeling awful still. ]

[ Executions are awful! Wow!! Despite how worn around the edges she may feel, Koharu does at least pause midstep to look over. ]

I'm... I'll be okay, as long as I take it easy. [ a beat. ] Are you okay...?

It almost reminds me of that place in Whoville with all the chocolate.

Hey, Koharu. [ then he'll come up next to her, tapping his knuckles on one of the fridge doors. ] I understand spacing out after all that, but there's got to be a more comfortable place for it than here.

What do cookies have to do with all this? I thought this was something about fortune telling.
