Kind of. But you're also the first person that's suggested actual things to try instead of being like "oh, you need to learn, it's good for the soul" or whatever and literally nothing else.

I'm kind of surprised... But it's easy to get away with not learning much—at least, when you have other cooks around.

Yeah... I never needed to before, so I just never thought about it. I don't mind trying, I guess, but it helps to know where to start.
